Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MeaLove, developed by Saul Braha, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the MeaLove iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Profile Data

• Email address and password (via Supabase Auth)
• Name, gender, age
• Height, weight, and goal weight
• Activity level and daily calorie target
• Dietary restrictions and preferences

Meal & Nutrition Data

• Photos of meals you choose to analyze
• Meal descriptions and food entries you log
• Recipes saved or generated within the app
• Shopping lists created by you

Subscription Data

• Which subscription plan you purchase, when, and whether it renews or is cancelled

Usage Data

• Records of in-app actions, such as opening the app, planning a week, generating a shopping list, or logging a meal
• Device type, operating system version, and app version

We do not collect payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store, and we never see your payment information.

2. Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your explicit permission, MeaLove reads the following data from Apple Health (HealthKit) to personalize your experience:

• Body weight — your most recent value
• Height — your most recent value
• Exercise minutes — used to estimate your activity level

This data is used solely to calculate and personalize your daily calorie and macronutrient targets. Access is read-only — MeaLove never writes, modifies, or deletes any data in Apple Health.

HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold or shared with third parties, and never sent to our analytics or subscription providers. Values read from Apple Health are used to calculate your targets, which are stored in your MeaLove account. Granting Health access is entirely optional; you can enter your details manually instead, and you may revoke access at any time in the iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health screen.

• To provide personalized meal planning and nutrition tracking
• To calculate and display calorie and macro estimates
• To generate recipe suggestions tailored to your dietary preferences
• To maintain your shopping lists across sessions
• To authenticate your account securely
• To manage your subscription and restore purchases
• To understand how MeaLove is used so that we can improve it

4. AI Processing (Anthropic)

MeaLove uses the Anthropic API (Claude models) to analyze meals and generate nutrition data and recipes. When you analyze a meal photo, log a meal by description or link, or request a recipe, the relevant content — including the meal photo itself where you have chosen photo analysis — is sent to Anthropic's servers for processing.

Anthropic receives only the content needed to complete that request. It does not receive your name, email address, or account credentials. This data is used solely to generate your nutrition analysis or recipe and is not used to train Anthropic's models under their standard commercial API terms. Requests are sent through our own secure server function; your content is never sent directly from your device to Anthropic. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage

All user data — including your profile, meal logs, recipes, and shopping lists — is stored securely in a Supabase database with row-level security (RLS) enabled. Your data is only accessible to your authenticated account. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate MeaLove. Each receives only the data described below, and each is contractually restricted to using it on our behalf.

Anthropic — powers AI meal analysis and recipe generation. See Section 4 above and Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

Supabase — hosts our database and handles account authentication. See Section 5 above and Supabase's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat — manages and reports on subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your purchase history (which plan you bought, when, and whether it renewed or was cancelled) together with your MeaLove account identifier, which means this information is linked to your MeaLove account. RevenueCat does not receive your meal photos, meal descriptions, nutrition data, Apple Health data, or health goals. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

PostHog — helps us understand how MeaLove is used so we can improve it. PostHog receives a record of in-app actions, your MeaLove account identifier, and device and app version information. IP-based location lookup is disabled, so PostHog does not derive or store your approximate location. PostHog does not receive your meal photos, the contents or descriptions of your meals, your calorie or macro values, your weight, your health goals, or your Apple Health data. 7. Data Sharing

• We do not sell your data to any third parties, ever.
• Meal photos and text are sent to Anthropic solely to perform nutrition analysis and recipe generation on your behalf.
• Apple Health data is never shared with any third party, including our analytics and subscription providers.
• No advertising networks or data brokers receive your information.
• Apart from the service providers listed in Section 6, who process data only on our behalf, we do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below, or by using the account deletion option within the app. Upon verified request, all profile data, meal logs, recipes, and shopping lists will be permanently deleted from our systems, and we will request deletion of the associated records held by the service providers listed in Section 6.

MeaLove is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of MeaLove after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the MeaLove iOS application ("App") operated by Saul Braha ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using MeaLove, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

MeaLove is an AI-powered meal planning application that provides nutrition analysis, recipe management, shopping list generation, and personalized meal planning features. The App uses the Anthropic Claude AI model to process meal descriptions and generate nutritional estimates and recipe suggestions.

2. Account Registration

To access MeaLove's features, you must create an account using a valid email address and password via Supabase Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to update it as necessary.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

MeaLove offers the following in-app purchase options, processed through Apple's App Store:

Free Trial. New subscribers to Premium Monthly or Premium Annual plans receive a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the selected plan.

Auto-Renewal. Premium Monthly and Premium Annual subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price as the original subscription.

Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. All billing is handled by Apple; we do not store or process payment information directly.

Managing Subscriptions. You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). Cancelling a subscription takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to premium features until that date.

No Refunds. Consistent with Apple's policies, we do not provide refunds for any unused portion of a subscription period. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Apple Support directly.

VIP Lifetime Purchase. The VIP Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase that grants lifetime access to all premium features available at the time of purchase and future feature additions at our discretion. This purchase is non-refundable.

Price Changes. We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated with reasonable advance notice and will take effect at your next renewal period.

4. Free Tier Limits

Users on the free tier may perform up to 10 AI meal analyses per week. This limit resets each week. Premium and VIP Lifetime subscribers are not subject to this limit. We reserve the right to modify free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MeaLove to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use automated tools to access the App in a manner that exceeds normal usage
• Transmit harmful, offensive, or misleading content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its content

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Saul Braha and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. AI-generated recipes and meal plans delivered to you through the App may be used for your personal use. We do not claim ownership of meal descriptions or other content you submit.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Saul Braha and MeaLove shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or health-related outcomes arising from your use of or reliance on the App. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10.00, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users or to us. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees paid.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through in-app notification. Your continued use of MeaLove after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
